Outfit #2

As I was walking around the mall with a couple of my friends today, I noticed a young women around her late 20s to early 30s wearing a cute salmon colored dress.

She was wearing a salmon colored dress that hugged her torso and flowed out at the bottom, stopping at about mid-thighs. The dress also had sleeves that stopped half way down her arm. She wore a brown waist belt as well and she paired this outfit with a pair of deep blue flats.

As I searched around, I found similar pieces of clothing from this outfit at Urban Outfitters, Maurices, Target, and Papaya.

These two dresses from Urban Outfitters (the black dress) and Maurices (the salmon dress) are similar to the one I saw earlier today.
The black dress from Urban Outfitters has a style similar to the particular dress I saw and the dress from Maurices has the same color and fabric of the dress that I saw.
This dress hugged this ladys torso which accented her hourglass body shape, yet flowed down at the bottom which made this dress a cute casual wear during the day.
This lady had olive skin and black hair. The salmon color of her dress worked wonderfully with her coloring. It accented her tan which made this color pop against her skin.

These flats from Target are similar to the ones that I saw earlier today.
This lady had worn her dress with dark blue flats, and yes you can do that and it will look gorgeous, but I found similar flats that are a different color. These flats from Target are a glittered gold that will look cute with either dress pictured on this post.
I have also found a pair of sandals from Target as well if you would like to wear a shoe other than a flat. These sandals are a silver/gold that will also pair nicely with both of the dresses pictured.

~Although both shoes are a "summer look" the sandals will give you a more casual look and the flats will dress the outfit up a little bit.

This belt from Papaya is similar to the one I saw earlier today.
This lady had put on a waist belt with her outfit today. This belt accented her hourglass figure, and brought attention to her waist.

~You can pair this outfit with gold jewelry.

Outfit #1

Today I was at this cute little country winery with my family and as we sat there together listening to the live music I noticed this lady of about mid 20s to early 30s and she was wearing such a cute outfit that caught my eye.

She was wearing a gray sleeveless top with ruffles in the front that stopped about mid-way down and had it tucked into a black pencil skirt that hugged her body nicely and went to about mid-thigh. She paired this outfit with a cute pair of flats.

I went looking for similar pieces of clothing that represented this cute outfit and I found them at Banana Republic, Charlotte Russe, and H&M.

This shirt from H&M is similar to the one I saw earlier today.
I thought that this shirt fit this particular lady well because of her hourglass body shape. It hugged her body well, tapering in slightly at the mid-section, which accented her shape. Also this particular shirt works well for girls with a smaller chest like myself for two reasons. One reason would be the fact that the neckline is not extremely low cut; this takes attention away from the chest. Secondly, the ruffles create more "body" in the front to accent the chest, making it look fuller.

These skirts from Banana Republic are similar to the one I saw earlier.
This outfit would work with either a long skirt, or a shorter skirt, similar to the ones in these two images. This skirt hugged her body in a way that accented her hips well. It wasn't too tight making it look stretched out, and it didn't hide the shape of her body by being too baggy.

~If you're petite and would like to add some length onto your legs, then the shorter skirt would be the more ideal choice.

These flats from Charlotte Russe are similar to the ones I saw earlier.
You can put this outfit together with a pair of heels as well as a pair of flats like these.
This color matches well with this particular outfit shown because this shoe color matches the color of the shirt, but you don't have to stick to this particular type of color.

~~This outfit was also paired with silver jewelry.

A Peek of Chic

Have you ever seen that person with the light and feminine dress but they've paired it with clunky shoes, or the lady whose blush resembles the look of a clown a little bit too much...?

We all notice when a person doesn't know how to accent their features, and others tend to see the flaws in the outfit being worn rather than the person; when a person knows how to present themselves well, people start to see the person as a whole rather than the outfit. When someone looks nice most people notice that they look good, but nobody questions what they've done in order to look that way.

I'm a second year college student working towards my Fashion Merchandising degree and I love putting together different outfits and colors.

I started this blog because I feel that regardless of a persons body type, everyone can be beautiful.

As I see an appealing outfit, I would like to share my thoughts as to why these outfits worked so well for these particular people.
